Here is what I created:

I printed off the background and stamp image separately, and fussy cut out the cute image. A bit of distressing ink around the edges finished off the vintage vibes.  I love how sweet this card turned out! It's approx 4.5x4.5 in size too!

Ghost Ink 2.0 with Rinea

Hello friends! 

I'm super excited to share my Rinea YouTube video with you this month -and it's all about techniques!  Did you read my blog title? YES - you read it right!  We have a BRAND NEW formulation of Ghost Ink - Ghost Ink 2.0 - and you are going to fall in LOVE with it!

I added a few bees using embossing powder - apparently bees are super hot in the crafting world right now! Who would have guessed they would be the next big thing?

I love using the Misfits Foiled Paper Variety Pack to play with different techniques! You would never know that there was anything "wrong" with them - and you get a variety of colors to play with.

Valentine's Home Decor DIY

Hello friends!

Valentine's Day is just around the corner! Typically, I don't do a ton of decorating, but I set up a small space in my house for seasonal displays last summer - so of course I needed some new ideas!

After many unsuccessful shopping trips trying to find something I liked, off to Pinterest I went (haha - don't we all?).  My home style isn't necessarily "farmhouse" and really doesn't have an overall theme. I love mid-century, clean lines, Scandinavian design, modern, industrial AND farmhouse - so I mash them up and do what I like. (ok all you interior designers - insert a loud GASP here!).

For my projects today, I decided on some canning jars, wood, fabric and bookstacks. Using pretty basic supplies that I had in my house, I managed to spend literally $2. in materials (I needed a couple pink paints).  The jars are just upcycled from my gigantic canning stash and I always have Kunin Felt on hand to make flowers with.  Books - well, I have been purging my own stash before thrifting for more.  We have a bin of wood odds and ends in our garage - yeah for scraps. And of course, I have a huge fabric stash too.

The jars were simple - paint, let dry and scuff up a bit. I tied some jute twine around them for a more rustic feel.  I had some peel off removable tape hearts, so I added them to one of the jars as a mask. When the paint was dry, I simply peeled off the tape.  The felt flowers are all hand cut and hand crafted. I just used some basic techniques online and got cutting! I've been making them for years, so they come together quite quickly. The flowers were hot glued to the top of the jars. Done! :)

  

I found an idea on Pinterest to make an XO from wood and an embroidery hoop. Two pieces of scrap wood were screwed together, then rough painted and sanded. Easy peasy! I added a piece of pink fabric to a wooden embroidery hoop and it became my "O".

   

Book stacks!  These I have been really enjoying making. I took some random hardcover books and painted them. Once dry, I hotglued them together and died some jute. I punched out some labels and distressed them, then glued them on the books.

 

   

I tucked my Scentsy warmer in behind the jars - it's the Mason Jar style so it fits right in!

There you have it - my handmade Valentine's suite made to fit my own style and decor.  You can make them too - it actually didn't take very long. The longest part was waiting for the paint to try so I could paint the other side of the books. I have since added a candle and another little chalked sign to the display. I'm sure a candy dish will make it's way in there too. hehe

Rinea Valentine's Tags

Hello!

I'm here today with a fun, quick Rinea project, featuring a YouTube video showing you how to create some adorable Valentine's Tags!  You can use them as your "exchange cards" too.  I used some fun, "snarky" sentiments, but you could always go super traditional too!  I used the Love Variety Pack along with your fave Valentine stamp set, heart dies, ink, tags and ribbon.  The stamp set I used came from Joy Clair Stamps.  It's such a fun set!  It's called #single in case you are looking for it.

Rinea Butterfly Collage

Hello crafty friends!

I have another GORGEOUS Rinea project to show you today.

  I just LOVE my second project this month and I couldn't wait to share it with you!  I made this Butterfly Collage to share with you!!

I started by using the Love Foiled Paper Variety Pack and die cut out various shapes and sizes of butterflies. I used a foiled patterned paper for the background and adhered the butterflies in a circular pattern.  I stamped a sentiment in the middle with matching inks. As this project is a dimensional project (the butterflies pop off the page), I removed the glass from a 12x12 frame and added my completed page from the back to let the butterflies pop out. 

I just love how the foiled paper hold's it's shape and die cuts so perfectly!   Thanks for stopping by and I will see you again soon!

#Single with Joy Clair Stamps

Creative Knockouts #281 - In Stitches

I had some PhotoPlay Valentine card kits on hand and thought it was a perfect base for this sweet little guy!  I colored him up with TwinTouch Markers and added some faux stitching around the edges.

Rose Heart with SparkleNSprinkle

Hello crafty friends!

It's time for a January New Release from SparkleNSprinkle!  I am featuring the Rose Heart Rubber Stamp Set!  It's a gorgeous stamp that you can layer with and do two-step stamping.  It's a really versatile set, and perfect for making those special Valentine's Cards!

-------> To create my background, I did random stamping on a piece of kraft cardstock using the heart stamps and Black Shadow Ink. I really wanted a random pattern.  For one of the hearts, I stamped the second layer with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with Copper Embossing Powder. The panel was cut to a 3.75x5 inch piece. This gave a nice focal point.

 

On a separate piece of cardstock I did the multi-layer stamping with light pink, dark pink and the Black Shadow Ink, then fussy cut out the heart. 

 

Now, I decided to have a bit of fun with my Embossing Powders!  I created my own "custom blend" using Rosa, Lana Pink and finely crushed up Sunkissed Copper Gilding Flakes!! I always have a few empty jars on hand so I can put my "custom creations" in them.  You can also purchase them HERE if you want to grab some for yourself!  I applied strips of 1/2" Tear-ific Tape around the outside edge of my cardbase, then removed the protective backing and sprinkled on my custom blended embossing powder. I made sure to heat set well. Then I added my kraft panel (with Tear-ific Tape of course!), popped up my fussy cut heart and stamped a sentiment using Versamark Ink. I heat embossed the sentiment with Rosa Embossing Powder and adhered it with foam squares. 

 

Embellishments were some simple gold/white twine from my stash along with some of the HAI Supply Flower Cup Sequins (which were adhered with Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive).
