Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #362

Hello friends!

Easy peasy lemon squeezy? Yes please!  I love anything with lemons - and this bright and fun card just makes me smile! This is my last card in my summer SCT Sampler series - I hope you enjoyed them! :) I think it's time to play with something else from my stash. Hmmm...I wonder what will be next?

I've been playing along with the sketches from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge for years now and every week I'm inspired to create!  This week my cards are based on the following sketch:

I hope you will come and play along with us!

Creative Knockouts Challenge #343 - Anything Goes

Hello crafty friends!

It's time for a new challenge over at Creative Knockouts Challenge #343. Our theme this week is "Anything Goes” and our sponsor is the amazing “Fabrika Fantasy". I actually decided to make two cards because I was having fun!  I'm using the "Fairy-Tale Unicorn" stamp this week. So classic! Everyone needs a cute unicorn stamp, right?

I used the image and resized it a bunch of times to create a background paper and then printed a full sized unicorn for the focal image! So cute!  I wanted fun and cheerful during this time of social distancing. It sure is a crazy world right now, isn't it?

Here is what I created:

I hope to see you at the challenge! :)

Until next time,

Jess

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #361

Hello friends!

Party time!  This card is so fun and festive!  How cute is that pompom trim? A quick hint when adding some pompoms - I attach the trim at the back of the card front, but then I trim off the pompom part so it still lays flat! I'm almost done with my Summer SCT Sampler - it's crazy how many cards you can create from them.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #360

Hello friends!

Okay - I don't often play favorites, but THIS card right here is probably one of my most favorites that I have made in a long time!  I don't know if it's the leaves or the color combo - or the fact that it's so summery and light - but I just LOVE it!!! It's still out of my SCT Sampler Stashbuster project - so I can't even remember who made the paper line! But I adore it! The cardstock is Blushing Bride from Stampin' Up! - that I know for sure. Some CTMH Gold Shimmer Trim and Gold Gems were the perfect accents too.

Happy Birthday Dude with Rinea

Hello crafty friends!

I have a fun new card to share with you today using Rinea products - this one is more on the masculine side! We are still working with our Creative Embellishment products, and I'm using some Brick Pieces Chipboard & 80's Slang Words on this card.

Supply List:

Sandpaper

Cardstock

Stamps

Thick Embossing Powder

Versamark Ink

This card will come together quickly for you!  I promise :)

Start with a piece of Ebony Starstruck Foiled Paper that is appox 4" by 5.25" as your background. Adhere the Brick Chipboard to the background in the location you want. I sprinkled some super thick embossing powder on the pieces and heat set for some extra dimension.

My Ruby/Gold Glossy piece came next. It's cut approx 1/4" smaller than the Ebony Starstruck. I carefully noted the position where the chipboard elements were added and made a slit in the Foiled Paper before adhering around the edges. Once it was adhered, I simply started tearing, sanding and distressing the Foiled Paper until the chipboard was exposed and I had the desired effect.

Next up was the DUDE Chipboard! I covered the piece with Versamark Ink and sprinkled on my Super Thick Embossing Powder - then heat set! Pretty quick and simple technique here.

I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment onto the Mocha/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper using Ghost Ink, let it dry for a few seconds, then wiped off the ink. Voila! Sentiment exposed perfectly. (If you want to learn more about the Ghost Ink, please check out my post HERE).

Finally, I glued down the DUDE, adhered my sentient with foam squares and mounted the entire panel onto my cardbase.

Thanks for stopping by! I had a ton of fun making this card - and I know you will too!

Creative Knockouts Challenge #341

Hello crafty friends!

It's time for a new challenge over at Creative Knockouts Challenge #341. Our theme this week is "Border Time” and our sponsor is the amazing “Fred She Said”. I chose to work with a stamp set called "Sunflowers and Thankfulness ”. I chose this image because the flowers were borders themselves! Perfect for the theme :)

Here is what I created:

With Easter around the corner, I felt that the scripture based cards are a perfect thought. A wash of watercolor was all this image really needed - it’s just so pretty! Nothing fancy on the card this time - I kept it very clean and simple.

I hope to see you at the challenge! :)

Until next time,

Jess

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #359

Hello friends!

This card was fun and easy breezy to make! A few stickers, a quick stamp and voila!  I love working through a stashbuster phase - you quickly forget all the cool things that you loved and previously purchased. I think in the craft world, we are soooo obsessed with what's new that we buy and buy and buy without truly creating with what we fell in love with and already have!  The NEW will always be there - I'm challenging you to go and use up some of what you already have.
