Papercraft Business Challenge - Thank You

Welcome to our September 2018 Papercraft Business Challenge!

Our theme is Anything Goes (w/option: Thanks! - for an extra entry to win the prize).
We all need a few Thank You cards in our stash, don't we?  I sure hope they are not becoming a thing of the past!!!!!  Get out those Thank You Stamps and get creating!

Here is what I created:

I used the Stampendous Hydrangea Garden Stamp Set to create this stunner. I stamped the image in Versamark, embossed with Gold Detail Embossing Powder and proceeded to color with my Nuvo Marker Pens.  I also scattered some Super Thick Gold Embossing Powder randomly to create a bit of interest in the center of the card.

I truly hope you will join in on this new challenge!

See you all next time!

Feathered Friends #2 for SparkleNSprinkle

Hello friends!

I have another fun Feathered Friends card to share with you this month.  I really had a lot of fun playing with a bunch of different Mixed Media techniques!  I can't wait to share with you - they are really fun and easy.

Here is my SNS Supply List:

Ok!  First things first - let's get your beautiful focal image ready!  I started by stamping the image with Versamark Ink and embossing with Black Detail Embossing Powder. I grabbed my Nuvo Aqua Flow Pens and lightly shaded in my birds. The way I like to use my Aqua Flows is to use a clear block as a pallet. I squeeze the color out of the brush and then use a empty water brush to mix and blend the colors, creating custom colors as I go! If I want bold color, I use them directly on paper.

After it was all nice and dry, I took my Solar Flare Shimmer Powder and gently tapped the powder all around my birds.  CAREFULLY, I used a mini mister to activate the mica and watercolor blend!  SOOO pretty!!!

Obviously, the more shimmer powder you use, the darker it will be. I just wanted a subtle hint.  Remember those cool backgrounds I made in my last post here (using the Turkish Rose and Nebula Blue Embossing Powder)? Well, I used the background paper to create my sentiment! I stamped it with Versamark Ink, then heat embossed with Sky Blue Spark Embossing Powder!

Some simple layers of cardstock were added behind each piece (adhered with 1/4" Tear-ific Tape). I used the 1/2" Tear-ific Tape to add a Margarita Glitter border around the background. Yellow Bird and Gold Coast Glitter Drops finished off this card along with a beautiful twist of glitter twine!  I used Pink Fizz and 1/2" Tear-ific Tape to create it!  It's really quite simple - pull the entire piece of Tear-ific Tape through the glitter while twisting and turning to make a rope! You can make it as tight or loose as you want.

Finally, I added some actual feathers!  I did trim and groom them a bit, but I LOVE the extra they brought to the card.

Here are some more close up shots of my finished project:

I just love the beautiful subtle details of this card. I hope you enjoyed it too!

See you next time!

Tea-lightful Fun with Southern Ridge Trading Company

Hello chipboard friends!

I'm here today with my newest Southern Ridge Trading Company creation - a very "tea-lightful" Tea Dispenser!!!

I actually had printed this tutorial off YEARS ago from Splitcoast Stampers, and recently came across my printout, so I decided to make it this week and accent it with BEAUTIFUL chipboard!!

Here are the pieces from Southern Ridge that I used:

Ok!  So this cute little project just needs a piece of cardstock that is 6x12 inches.  I followed the cutting guide HERE.  I used the gorgeous Swooping Birds and Tags chipboard items to decorate this sweet box.  To color my chipboard pieces, I used Nuvo Embellishment Mousse.  Simply sponge it on and it dries very quickly!  I also added a bit of blue spray inks to the tag (which I also added some "T-E-A" wooden letters).

I used my Tombow Mono White Glue to adhere the chipboard pieces to my tea box. It is really an easy assemble - I'm definitely going to make a few gifts for the upcoming season!!!  I also accented the top with a flower chipboard piece (I believe it's been discontinued, but you can find a similar flower in the Deb's Strawberry Angel Kit).  Some pearls were added at the end along with a bit of ribbon and bakers twine. I really love how quickly this project came together and what a perfect gift giving idea this could be!!!

Thanks for popping by!  See you again next time!!

Wishing You Blessings with Rinea

Hello crafty friends!

I'm so excited to share my second monthly project for Rinea with you today!  We are continuing our partnership with Joy Clair Stamps - and I was blessed to use the Fall Leaves stamp set for this project.

I used the Earth Tones & Metallics Foiled Paper Variety Packs to create this card. I used the Ghost Ink to create some really cool texture on my background piece.  In a nutshell, you stamp using your Ghost Ink, then GENTLY heat set. Using some rubbing alcohol, gently rub off the inked areas! It reveals the silver foil below - it's like a reverse ink :) I then stamped the "vein" stamps using Versamark Ink and heat embossed with a light colored embossing powder.

I die cut the amazing foiled paper - both the GLOSSY and STARSTRUCK versions. You will love how cleanly this product die cuts - and then you can bend it to hold it's shape!  I tried to use almost all the beautiful fall leaf shapes - I know I will use this set quite often in the month's to come!  I also used a leaf embossing folder I had on hand - a perfect fit!!!

I hope you enjoy this card!  I had a lot of fun making it - it sure got me in the "fall" feels - even though I LOVE summer!!!

See you really soon!

Feathered Friends #1 for SparkleNSprinkle

Hello crafty friends!

I have a beautifully feathered card to share with you today for SparkleNSprinkle!!!

Here is my SNS Supply List:

Let's get crafty!!  I started by making a whole bunch of options with the wreath and sentiment!  I stamped everything with Versamark Ink, embossed with Black Detail Embossing Powder and used the Nuvo Aqua Flow Pens to do the majority of the coloring.  I really wanted to distress the look of them, so I used the Nebula Blue & Turkish Rose Mica Mists to add some background color. I also used the Nuvo Shimmer Powder in Atlantis Burst, Cherry Bomb and Solar Flare!  To use the Shimmer Powders - I usually sprinkle them on the paper GENTLY (it comes out fast!) and then spray with water. You can also move the paint around with an empty Aqua Flow Painter once it's wet.

Once everything was nice and dry, I fussy cut some of the wreaths and chose the one I wanted to use for this particular card. I cut out a piece of Broken Glass Craft Perfect paper for the background. I wanted to jazz up the background a bit too - so I cut a piece of pink cardstock and laid out some tracks of 1/4" Tear-ific Tape!  To the tape I added Dragon Fruit Embossing Powder and Strawberry Sherbet Embossing Powder. It made a cool zigzag effect!!!

I decided I needed a ribbon - so I made my own!  Using Demo Donna's FABULOUS Glitter Ribbon technique, I used the Margarita Glitter and the 1/2" Tear-ific Tape to make my ribbon. You can find the technique HERE.

I accented the card using Yellow Bird and Gold Coast Glitter Drops.  All of the layers were adhered using 1/4" Tear-ific Tape!

The sentiment was stamped using Versamark and Sky Blue Spark Embossing Powder.

I hope you enjoyed this card. This stamp set is just beautiful - and so versatile!  Be sure to pick it up while it's on sale. If you are reading this after the new release sale, you can still save yourself 10% by using the code "JessDT10" when you checkout at our SparkleNSprinkle Store!
