Hello crafty friends!

Wowsers!  How is Christmas only 10 days away?  Is it just me, or are you also ready to move on from Holiday Cards and bring on allll the Valentines? hehe  I can't wait!

It's time for a new challenge over at Creative Knockouts Challenge #483.

Our theme this week is "Anything Goes” and our sponsor is the amazing “The Paper Shelter. What I love about them is that their images can be downloaded and used immediately - no coloring required!  Perfect for quick cards.

I chose to work with a stamp set called "Fa-La-La". It's a super adorable group of carolers!

Here is what I created:

Super cute and super simple!

I hope you enjoy this card!  Merry Christmas everyone! I hope you have an amazing and creative holiday season.

Can't wait to see what you all create!  Good luck at the challenge!

Creative Knockouts #481 - Winter Wonderland

Hello crafty friends!

Let is snow, let it snow, let it snow! It's been a snowy week here on the prairies (well duh, it is December now! haha). I've been in full on Christmas Card mode this month....and today's card is super adorable!

It's time for a new challenge over at Creative Knockouts Challenge #480.

Our theme this week is "Anything Goes” and our sponsor is the amazing “Lee Holland”. I chose to work with a stamp set called "Dragon Pulling Sledge".

Here is what I created:

I picked up some brand new metallic watercolors, so I decided to use them on my card this week. I did a spray with a White Gloss Spray - it added a subtle effect.

To emulate some snow, I used a bit of crackle paste.

My sentiment is from Tim Holtz.

I hope you enjoy this card!  I'm having fun trying different techniques.

Can't wait to see what you all create!  Good luck at the challenge!

xoxo

P.S. I'm Entering this card over at World Wide Open Design Team Challenges.

Creative Knockouts #479 - Anything Goes

Hello crafty friends!

Well, winter has officially arrived here in the prairies....so it's time for some snow fun!

It's time for a new challenge over at Creative Knockouts Challenge #479.

Our theme this week is "Anything Goes” and our sponsor is the amazing “SheepSki Designs”. I chose to work with a stamp set called "Winter Deer Image No 195"

Here is what I created:

I haven't does a "distressed' card in a long, long time!  I started by printing the digial image out on white cardstock, then covered it with Versamark.  I sprinkled on the Distress Frosted Crystal Embossing powder and heat set (I'm still learning - so bare with me! haha)

I did add a few layers of Speckled Egg and Tattered Rose here and there for some color.  Then I added some Taupe ink to age the papers.

I grabbed some vintage book paper and distressed with tearing, ink and some White Gloss Spray.

Finally, I stamped my sentiment and some "snow" using the Speckled Egg Distress Oxide Ink!

I hope you enjoy this card!  I had tons of fun creating it - it felt good to do a different style for a change and get inky! haha

Can't wait to see what you all create!  Good luck at the challenge!

xoxo

Creative Knockouts Challenge #467 - Make it Funny!

Hello crafty friends!

It's another beautiful week ahead - seriously, hasn't this August weather just been incredible?  I don't know about you, but I don't want summer to end this year!

It's time for a new challenge over at Creative Knockouts Challenge #467.

Our theme this week is "Make it Funny” and our sponsor is the amazing “Pattie's Creations”. I chose to work with a stamp set called "Pickle Jar

Here is what I created:

I printed off the image and watercolored, then re-traced all the lines with a thin sharpie to make it more defined. I created the sentiment on my computer and printed off. Easy peasy!

I hope to see you at the challenge! :)

Until next time,

Jess

Creative Knockouts #465 - All Stitched Up

Happy Thursday friends!

Happy news!  My chemotherapy is complete. I'm still learning to live with some energy issues, medical menopause (oh what fun that is! LOL) and waiting on my surgery date. Hopefully that will come soon. Cancer is definitely a long haul process. BUT - I'm happy to be inching closer to being cancer free.

Let's get to the challenge!
Over at Creative Knockouts, For Challenge #465, our theme is All Stitched Up.

Our wonderful sponsor is Mirtillamente Digital Stamps.

I know I say this every week, but their stamps are super cute.  I used the Digi called almost-cute-elephant.
I used a simple wash of watercolors for this quick and simple card. The stitching element of course is hand drawn around the edges.

Here is what I created in more detail:

I hope you will join us at the challenge!

See you next time!

Happy Thursday friends!

I’m super happy to announce that I only have two more chemotherapy appointments left! Horray! There’s still a long road to go, but I’ll be happy to have this part done! Onward and upward!

It's time for a new challenge over at Creative Knockouts. For Challenge #457, our theme is Use Two or More Patterned Papers!

Our wonderful sponsor is KLM Designs. Their stamps are just adorable! I used the Digital Stamp called Christmas Light Gnome.

I printed off the digi and coloured with alcohol markers - still not my fave thing to do but I’m trying! Lol

The pattern papers are from Prima. I figure I could use this challenge to get a head start on Christmas cards! Hehe

Here is what I created in more detail:

Thanks for stopping by! Your comments mean a lot to me :)

Hugs!

June!  Time flies when we are having fun, right?

It's time for a new challenge over at Creative Knockouts. For Challenge #455, our theme is Fun Folds!

Our wonderful sponsor is Twinkle Lane Designs. Such whimsical and fun stamps. I used the Digital Stamp called Mini Ice Creams

I started by using the digi to create a full sheet of paper. I printed it onto white cardstock, then watercolored to give it some brightness!  Then, I found this adorable Kite design folded card on Pinterest and followed her instructions.

Here is what I created in more detail:

A little bit of lace and embroidery floss finished off the "tail" of my kite!  How cute!

I hope to see you at the challenge. Challenges are a great way to bust out of a creative funk - or just to have fun and maybe win a prize or two!

Creative Knockouts Challenge #447 with All Dressed Up Stamps - For the Girls

Happy Thursday friends!

Well, I started a new Chemo drug last week. So far, so good!  I have 12 rounds of this drug - once a week on Fridays. Wish me luck!  I know I will do just as well through these rounds as I did on the first batch. Keep those good vibes coming - I appreciate it.

It's time for a new challenge over at Creative Knockouts. For Challenge #447, our theme is For the Girls and our wonderful sponsor is All Dressed Up.  I am working with a digi called "New Hair Do" - being a hairstylist, of course I had to choose this one! She's just too sweet.

Here is what I created:

For this card, I decided to do a little paper piecing. I started by printing the full digi image onto my cardbase and a second copy on a piece of cardstock. I colored the bow and shirt from the second piece using Tonic Studios Nuvo Alcohol Markers. Then, I fussy cut them out and attached them to my cardbase. Just a cute and easy card!  The sentiment was stamped using basic black ink.  Isn't she adorable?

I hope to see you at the challenge. Challenges are a great way to bust out of a creative funk - or just to have fun and maybe win a prize or two!

Until next time,

Creative Knockouts Challenge #443 with Dr. Digi's House of Stamps - Birthday Wishes

Happy Thursday friends!

Has it warmed up in your neck of the woods yet? March can be so fickle! Good thing there is crafting to occupy the time when the weather doesn't agree. haha

It's time for a new challenge over at Creative Knockouts. For Challenge #443, our theme is Birthday Wishes and our wonderful sponsor is Dr. Digi. I am working with a digi called called Grumpy Sentiments. I just fell in love with the funny greetings!  I even created 4 cards to share with you - that's how much I loved it!  This digi is a PDF Sheet - so it prints out in one go and you simply trim out the one you want!

Here is what I created:

I think this was my personal fave!

I kept these cards simple as well - created a background from some awesome masculine papers - then fussy cut out the sentiments after printing!  I'm sure you could handle that too - hehehe.

I hope to see you at the challenge. Challenges are a great way to bust out of a creative funk - or just to have fun and maybe win a prize or two!

Creative Knockouts Challenge #437 & A Health Update

Hello crafty friends!

Well, I decided I needed some excitement in my life (other than my new cancer journey! LOL) so I decided to rejoin the girls over at Creative Knockouts! I always love the team there and I'm so happy to be back.

Yes - I used the big "C" word there - I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in December 2021 and am taking 2022 to heal me up! That means, no working outside the home....BUT, that also means more craft time. I will share a bit here and there with my journey - but just know that I have an amazing medical team and I know I will kick cancer to the curb. :)

So enough of that talk - let's talk crafty stuff!

It's time for a new challenge over at Creative Knockouts Challenge #437. Our theme this week is "Die Cuts & Punches" and our sponsor is  SheepSki Designs
The image I used is Bob Image No 60 - he's so cute!

Here is what I created:

I used a simple heart punch to add extra popped up hearts around Bob. Such a simple, yet effective addition!

I hope to see you at the challenge. Challenges are a great way to bust out of a creative funk - or just to have fun and maybe win a prize or two!

Until next time,

Jess
