Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #43

Good morning!

Well, it's a week off from school for my children, so that means plenty of crafting time together!  In our home, you can always find craft supplies, glue sticks, scissors - you name it - scattered around.  I also wake up to handmade cards from my children tucked into pillowcases or set on the dresser.  I love a creative home!

This week over at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge, we were given a simple, yet challenging sketch!  I tried not to take the "literal" approach.  Here was the sketch:

Here was my interpretation:

I played with some metal sheets from "Add A Little Dazzle" and my embossing folders.  I can't wait for my Close to My Heart Embossing folder to arrive later today!  I am always in need of birthday cards, so find myself making them.  I hope you enjoy!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #41

Good day!  I am officially back for my second term as a design team member!  I am super excited to be back and can't wait to see what sketches are waiting for us!!

Here was this week's sketch:

Here is what I came up with:

I used some random items from my embellishment stash and a little distressing to give this a roughed up look.  I still need to keep my "shabby" cards clean - if that makes any sense! :)

Hope you enjoy and I will be back next week with another creation for you!

Cheers!
