I had a lot of fun creating this gorgeous little mermaid!
Supply List:
Stamp Set - 847 - Kaitlyn Mermaid
Priceless Peacock Ultrafine Glitter - G1015Jewel Drops - Strawberry Coulis 643N
Sticker Paper - 99558
Glow in the Dark Crystal Drops - Blue Crush 745N
Caribbean Ocean Crystal Drops 670N
Versamark Ink - VM001
Stazon Black Ink
Lator Gator Ultrafine Glitter - GM2008
Small Nuvo Glue Pen - 202N
Peacock Embossing Powder -EP301
Embellishment Mousse - Pacific Teal - 822N
Blue Jewel Ultrafine Glitter - G1113
Rapture Blue Glitter
1/2" Tear-ific Tape - SAT04
I started by stamping this adorable image onto a piece of white cardstock. I watercolored her (using the backing card as a guide!) and added some Lator Gator Ultrafine Glitter to the plants using the Small Nuvo Glue Pen. I also added the Blue Jewel Glitter to her hair with the glue pen! :) I set the panel aside and went to work on my Background!
I cut my Sticker Paper down to card size (4x5.25). Carefully using an Exacto Knife and a ruler, I cut strip into the backing paper just through to the paper side (not all the way!). I removed each triangle separately and sprinkled on different shades of Glitter - Blue Jewel, Priceless Peacock and Rapture Blue. Isn't it pretty?
Once all my watercoloring was dry, I grabbed the bottle of Caribbean Ocean Crystal drops and made "water" droplet accents all around the mermaid. I also added some Strawberry Coulis Crystal Drops to her bracelet and belt.
The sentiment was stamped onto a scrap piece of white cardstock with Versamark and embossed using Peacock Embossing Powder. To assemble the card, I fussy cut out my pretty mermaid and the sentiment. I rubbed on some of the pretty Pacific Teal Embellishment Mousse to the edges of the fussy cut pieces.
They were attached to the glittery sticker paper using 3D Foam Tape. I added a bit of bakers twine behind the mermaid for a little accent. The entire panel was adhered to a piece of white cardstock and then again onto a piece of blue card base using 1/2" Tear-ific Tape!
So, here is a funny thing that happened next. I thought I was grabbing the Caribbean Ocean Crystal Drops to finish off my corners - but instead I grabbed my Glow in Dark Blue Crush Crystal Drops! OOPS! So, this card will have a little something extra special when the lights are turned off! hahaha! 😃💓
I really hope you enjoyed this card! There are soooo many gorgeous creations awaiting you on the blog hop, so head on over to Belinda's Blog HERE to see what she created!
I'd like to enter this card in the Creative Moments Challenge #116!
See ya next time!

Wow, Jess! I have not done that glitter background technique yet, and now I really REALLY want to! Your colored mermaid is dahl-ling, and I especially like the NUVO drops around to signify bubbles and water. It's a beautiful card! hugs, de
ReplyDeleteHi, Jess! Fabulous job with the new stamps. I love how you glittered the mermaid's tail and used 3-D tape to give your card so much dimension. Great job!!!
