Rinea Christmas Ornaments

Hello crafty friends!

As I was working my way through my Rinea paper, I really wanted to make some ornaments!  So off to the local dollar store I went in search of foam balls. Oh boy - I found more than foam balls!  I found wreath forms, snowflakes, cones.....a whole assortment of goodies!  As you can see, I already was playing with the cone shape, and the snowflakes will come later. Today, it's ornaments!  For this project, I used the FROSTED VARIETY PACK.  Aren't the colors just gorgeous?

I started by using a small trio flower punch & large flower punch (Stampin' Up!).  I punched out a TON of pieces in all 3 colors & textures- light blue, dark blue and silver & stars!  Then, one by one, I started attaching the flowers to my foam ball using glass head pins. I used a LOT of pins! hehe  I also added a small flower to the center of the larger flower.  As you can see, you can bend and shape the petals to the position you would like them - and then they keep their shape!

I literally just kept pinning until all the white styrofoam was covered.  To add my hanger, I took a piece of ribbon and tied a knot.  Then I used a pin dipped in a little hot glue and pushed it through the ribbon into the ball to hold.  That's it!  So super easy and beautiful!  I couldn't stop there...so I did a smaller version too.  This one primarily used the textured version of the beautiful Rinea Foil. I also just used Glue Dots instead of pins for the smaller ornament.

Here you can see the size differences in the two.

I even got really "techy" and made a little video - but I will post that over on Instagram - head over there to see!  www.instagram.com/freshbyjess

I hope you are getting in the holiday spirit - I sure am with all the Christmas pretties I've been making!  Stay tuned for more Rinea fun all month long!

See ya soon!

SparkleNSprinkle - Christmas Tag Card

Hello friends!

I'm here today with a gorgeous Christmas Card inspiration for you, featuring the amazing SparkleNSprinkle product line up!

Supply List:

Step 1 - Create your background
First of all, I took a large strip of 2.5" Tear-ific Tape and adhered it along the middle of my card.  I then took a piece of the 1/4" Tear-ific Tape and adhered it on the top and bottom of the 2.5" Tape.  I trimmed my card panel to resemble a large Christmas tag.

I ran the Silver Mirror Cardstock through my Big Shot machine using the Christmas Strips - Ribbons & Bows die and cut out the gorgeous bow pattern.  I then removed the backing of the 2.5" Tear-ific Tape and attached the bow. I made sure it was well burnished and attached.  I took my Denim Glitter and sprinkled it all over the remaining exposed adhesive, burnishing well, then removing the excess.

Next, I removed the backing from the 2 strips of 1/4" Tear-ific Tape and added the Blue Haze Glitter - again, burnishing well and brushing off the excess.  Voila!  Background completed!

Step 2 - Complete your image
I took the Ornament tag image and stamped it onto a piece of white cardstock using Versamark Ink. I embossed it with Black Detail Embossing Powder and then colored the image with my Twin Touch Markers.  I used a large circle punch to cut out the image.

After it was colored, I used the Small Nuvo Glue Pen to add some Mediterranean Star Embossing Powder to the center of the ornament (making it look like an old-fashioned Mercury Ornament).  Next, I used the Large Glue Pen and ran it around the edges of the ornament tag, then sprinkled on the Blue Haze Glitter for some extra sparkle!

Step 3 - Assemble!
So, for the final step, I popped up the image using 3D Foam Tape and added a bit of White/Silver Pull ribbon for a "tag" effect.

Such a simple card, yet it turned out sooo gorgeous!

Until next time,
