Violets for You Surprise Card

Hi crafty friends!  Happy Friday!

It's December reveal time at SparkleNSprinkle and today's card features the beautiful new stamp set, Violets for You! Now what do you think the surprise can be?

First, I'll share with you the SNS Supplies I used to create this beautiful handmade card:

Have you been in suspense long enough? Here's the inside....it's a pop up card!

\
I broke down the creation of this card into 3 basic steps.

Step 1 - Stamp & Color

Stamp the images using Versafine ink, then color using a mix of Nuvo Aqua Flow Pens & Nuvo Marker Pens.  You can make the all shiny and pretty using Shamrock Glitter (on the leaves) and Hyacinth glitter on the blooms. Once you are done with glitter, fussy cut out all your images.

Step 2 - Fold & Score the Base

Take a piece of light brown cardstock, approx 6'x11' and score it at 5.5". Then score on either side of center at 4.5", 5", 6" and 6.5", creating an accordion center.

Step 3 - Assemble and Embellish

On the inside of the card, use Tear-ific Tape to adhere you Violet pots wherever you want them to stand. Stamp your seniment with Versamark and emboss with Venus Violet embossing powder.
For the front, add simple layers using cardstock, the Craft Perfect Hail Storm Paper and the Kaisercraft Memory Land Paper Pack. Finally, embellish with the Violet Galaxy Crystal Drops.

Who would you cheer up with this beautiful card?  Thanks for stopping by today. I hope this card brought some inspiration and happiness into your day!
See you again soon!

Jess

Supply List:

Spring Bunny 819 (digi version DIGI819)
Purple Rain Microfine Glitter - GM2020
Hyacinth Microfine Glitter - GM2028
Ballerina Microfine Glitter - GM2024
Margarita Microfine Glitter - GM2032
Grassy Green Flocking - FL103
Pink Spirit SparkleNSoft - SS108
Embossing Paste - DR-DGWP (I used non-glossy)
Cherry Blossom Stencil - DR-LG644
Small Nuvo Glue Pen - 202N
Nuvo Embellishment Mousse - Peony Pink - 800N
1/4" Tear-ific Tape - SAT04
Foam Squares - 01613
Onyx Black Versafine Ink - TSVF082

To begin this card, I started by using the Cherry Blossom Stencil and Embossing Paste to create a gorgeous textured background. After it dried, I sponged on some of the Peony Pink Embellishment Mousse to add some extra glimmer.

To make my focal image, I started by editing my Digital Stamp image in Microsoft Word.  I added the main image, added a colored background and imposed a border of the "eggs" along the bottom.  That's the best part of digi stamps - being able to manipulate them! I then printed off the edited Spring Bunny Digital Stamp onto white cardstock. I fussy cut it out and went to work with my glitters!

Using the Small Nuvo Glue Pen, I simply "drew" where I wanted my adhesive to be, sprinkled on the glitter and voila!  I used Purple Rain, Ballerina, Margarita and Hyacinth Microfine Glitters.

Of course I used Pink Spirit SparkleNSoft on the bunny - to make him sparkly and fuzzy!

I used the Grassy Green Flocking along the bottom of the eggs to add some extra "grassy" texture. The Sentiment was stamped onto white cardstock using Onyx Black Versafine Ink. I used some pink ink to stamp the small egg image around the sentiment.

To assemble this card, I added a strip of ribbon using 1/4" Tear-ific Tape to adhere.  I popped up the focal image using Foam Sqaures. All the layers were attached using the 1/4" Tear-ific Tape.  I used a scalloped edge punch to add a bit of pizzaz to the cardfront edges.

The next stop along the hop is the super talented Anne and you can find her blog here.  Can't wait to share all my creations with you for this month!!

While we didn't reveal any NEW stamp sets, we were given a goodie bag FULL of products to play with.  I didn't know where to start - so I grabbed the Nuance Powders & Cherry Blossom stencil and went to work!

 Here is my supply list:

Bleach
Water
Phew!  That's a long list :)

First, I started by laying my Cherry Blossom Stencil overtop of a piece of Watercolor Paper.  Then, I took my Nuance Magenta Powders and tapped randomly over top of the stencil.  Using my MiniMister, I sprayed the paper & stencil to activate the watercolor powders.  Then, I carefully removed the stencil and immediately flipped it over onto another piece of Watercolor Paper to make a print.  This is how I created the background (I used the print piece!).  It's pretty neat how no two are alike when using these amazing powders!

After I let the paper dry, I then took the Butterfly stamp from Brocade Backgrounds, inked it up with Stazon Ink and randomly stamped twice on the background.  Using a fine tip paint brush, I used bleach to remove a bit of the watercolor from inside the butterfly's wings (sort of like reverse painting!).  Once I removed enough color, I once again let the paper dry. While it was drying, I stamped another butterfly onto a scrap piece of watercolor paper and used the Nuance Magenta Powders to watercolor it.  Then, I fussy cut it out.  On all 3 butterflies, I used the Quicky Glue Pen to outline and then added Golden Wheat Mircrofine Glitter for added sparkle!  I also randomly scribbled on the background with the Glue Pen and added the Golden Wheat Glitter to my doodles.

I added a piece of Tear-ific tape along the bottom of my background and sprinkled on Amethyst Spray Embossing Powder, then heat set it.

My sentiments came from the Friendship Flowers stamp set.  I used Versamark Ink to stamp them, then sprinkled on Black Detail Emobssing powder & heat set.  I once again used the Nuance Magenta Powders to watercolor the "Friendship" sentiment.  They are so cool to work with and have a bit of a sheen to them.  I added Foam Squares to the back of the sentiments & butterfly to attach them to the background.  I mounted them on a piece of Hyacinth Cardstock and then onto the card base, all using Tear-ific Tape.

I hope you liked my creation for this reveal - I sure had fun making it!

Good luck in the Blog Hop!  Up next in the hop is Belinda and you can find her blog here.

Until next time,

Jess
