Scrapy Land Challenge #103

Hello friends!

Welcome to Scrapy Land {Challenge #103}!  I'm very excited to share my project with you.  For this project, I used a Spellbinders Layered Poinsettia Die to create my flowers!  You could use the Impression Obsession Poinsettia Set LARGE to create the same flowers.

Impression Obsession Dies - Poinsettia Set Large

Here are a few more close ups of my handmade card:

I used a few different paper packs - CuteNCrafty Mommy Shabby Christmas Digi Paper, Bo Bunny's "Christmas in the Village" and Prima's "Santa Baby".  Of course I had to add a little sparkle to the flowers and some delicate lace trim.

A Little About our Challenge

The theme is always ANYTHING GOES using any brand of die that Scrapy Land sells.  In addition, we have TWO WINNERS for each challenge.  One will be a random winner and the other is chosen by the Design Team.  Each winner will receive a generous $10 gift certificate to Scrapy Land.

Scrapy Land carries over 55 brands of dies, so chances are you have a few of the brands in your stash!  You can see all the brands carried under the Products category.

Please link back to this Scrapy Land Challenge and include the link to this challenge on your blog post.  It would also be extremely helpful if you would list the brands of dies used in your project.  (Sometimes we can't tell if an item is a die cut or chipboard.)

We can't wait to see what you create!  It can be any style you like from CAS to mixed media and everything in between.    Just be sure there's a die cut from a brand that Scrapy Land sells!

Good luck!

See you soon!

Cardinal & Holly

Hello again friends!

I'm sharing my final May Reveal card today for SparkleNSprinkle! I'm using the Cardinal & Holly Stamp set - which can be used for holiday and non-holiday cards alike!

First up, supply list!

SNS Supplies:

WOW!  Ok - now I know that seems like quite a long list, but there are lots of little details on the card and it's really not that hard to make ;)

For the background, I stamped the Autumn Berry Wreath randomly over white cardstock, then watercolored with the Aqua Flow Pens. I accented the berries with Autumn Red Crystal Drops and set aside to dry while I worked on the main image.

I stamped the Cardinal & Holly image with Versafine ink and colored with my Aqua Flow pens.

So pretty, right?  Well...grab your scissors and start fussy cutting! :)  Once you are done that, you can finish off your background.

I cut a piece of Satin Finish Black Velvet Craft Perfect Paper and ran it through my Big Shot with a fun Christmas themed embossing folder. I rubbed on some of the Mother of Pearl Embellishment Mousse to give texture and shine.

Next, I assembled all my layers, using 1/4" Tear-ific Tape! I actually added a second fussy cut bird later for more dimension.  I used the Red Berry Crystal Drops to accent the berries in the holly leaves.

Gypsy Glitter and Gecko Glitter were added for some shiny accents!  Who doesn't love glitter on holiday cards? :)

My sentiment was stamped with Versamark Ink and embossed with Gold Detail Embossing Powder.

I felt I needed to add some extra something and I had some paper flowers kicking around on my desk. They were the PERFECT color!  All I needed to do was add a bit of Gold Glitter using the Nuvo Glitter Marker!!!

I hope you enjoyed my card tutorial.  I think we say this every year, but I really want to get a jump on my holiday cards this summer!!

See you really soon!

Jess

Kitty Bee Designs - November Spotlight

Hello friends!

I'm here today to share my Designer Spotlight for November with Kitty Bee Designs!

I just LOVE this cute little penguin - he's called "Snow Penguin" and he's just perfect for holiday cards! You can find the digi HERE.

Snow Penguin Digi Stamp

Here is what I created:

I used my TwinTouch markers to color him in. I got to play with some new dies from Hero Arts called "Snowy Drifts Fancy Dies"!  Aren't they cute? I used them to cut the trees and just free handed the snow drifts.  I added some sparkle with Tonic Glimmer Paste and SparkleNSprinkle's Lavender Iris Glitter. I accented his hat with some liquid applique. So fun!

I had so much fun making this card - I will definitely be making a few more of them!

Have a great day!

Supply List:

Christmas Tags #2 806 (digi version DIGI806)

So this card was super fun to make! I started by applying a row of 2.5" Tear-ific Tape across a piece of white cardstock. I used my Big Shot and Sizzix Inksheets Transfer Pad to run the Ribbons & Bows Die through the machine and only cut the top layer of the Tear-ific Tape (protective backing).

Next, I removed the backing from the main bow portion and applied Blue Haze Glitter to the exposed adhesive. Rub it in well with your finger tool! I removed the inner pieces of the bow backing and applied the Denim Glitter. Oh, is so soft and shiny! :)

Finally, I removed the rest of the backing and applied the Cloud Nine Glitter to the rest of the exposed adhesive. Isn't it a gorgeous technique? Love the results!

I had embossed a piece of blue cardstock with an embossing folder and used a sanding block to distress is slightly. I adhered the bow piece to the background with Tear-ific Tape.

I stamped the Tag using Versamark Ink and embossed with Mediterranean Star Embossing Powder. I punched it out using a circle punch and adhered in the center of the bow using Foam Squares.

I tied a piece of White Mon Ami Gabby Pull Ribbon around the panel and pulled it to make the pretty bow - LOVE these ribbons!

The entire card was adhered to a white A2 card base using Tear-ific Tape. Voila! A pretty, elegant Christmas Card - just for you!

The next stop on our blog hop is the amazing Shona and you can find her blog HERE.

See you next time!
