Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #36

Wishing you all a very Happy New Year and all the best in 2014!

This week's sketch was a blast to work with.  I am definitely ready to start creating projects other than Christmas cards!  Here was this week's sketch:

Again, I am back to my favorite October Afternoon products!  I chose to work with the Midway collection and added in some Sahara Sand and Crisp Cantaloupe cardstock from Stampin' Up!.  The Kraft card base is from Close to My Heart.  The "Happy Birthday " sentiment is also from Stampin' Up! (Teeny Tiny Wishes - one of my all time favorite stampsets).  I hope you enjoy!

Here is my finished creation:

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge is also looking for new Design Team Members for our next session!  Check out the blog if you think you would like to join us.

I plan to start blogging weekly (as time allows of course!) in the New Year.  I hope everyone keeps following along and entering over at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge!

See you in 2014!

Some new cards....just because!

Hello everyone!

I wanted to enter a few different Challenge Blogs (including Creative Corner Challenges) this week, so I thought I would just to a "week in review" type of post with some of the different projects I have been working on this week!

Here we go!

I would also like to enter this card in the Creative Corner Challenges as well!
This is the card I am entering for Creative Corner Challenges!

I believe almost all the supplies for these cards came from Close to My Heart (mostly Huntington & Buzz and Bumble paperpacks).  I loved playing with the Pigment Inks to make the multicolored embossing on middle two cards.

I hope you enjoy these cards.  Fall is in the air!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #8

Hello friends!

I am playing along with Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge  once again this week.  Here is the sketch:

I was feeling inspired by the "Buzz & Bumble" Paper Pack from Close to My Heart (I just completed the Workshop on the Go for this last week!).  I also love my Tim Holtz Distress Inks in antique linen and peacock feathers (for a POP of color).

Here is my completed card!

I am new to the whole "distressed/shabby" look, but I think it turned out great!  I love the pop of blue and the aged look to the whole card.  Even the greeting smudged just the way I wanted it too! :)

I started by distressing all the layers with the distressing tool.  Then I used the wooden sponge too from Inkssentials to smudge the antique linen ink (Tim Holtz) around.  Next, I sponged Desert Sand (CTMH) to darken the corners and edges.  I really tried to bend some of the corners to age the paper.  I just love using Waxy Flax (CTMH) on cards - in this case, I just tied some of the brown waxy flax around the top layer.  I used the Buzz & Bumble stamp set to stamp the images, then hand cut them out.  The blending pen from CTMH is great to color in those images with a slight watercolor look!    The greeting is from Joyful Birthday Occasions (CTMH).

I will share the completed scrapbook pages so you can see where my inspiration came from!  These were straight from the Workshop on the Go (WOTG) instructions.

What do you think?  I welcome your feedback!!!  Have a great day!
