Stick It Down - August

Hello friends!

It's time to share my card for Stick It Down this month!  Here was our sketch:

I had picked up and adorable Stamp & Paper set from PeachyCheap called "Golden Days" by Amber Labau.  I really wanted to create with it so this is what I came up with:

I used Distress Oxide Inks to created the background and most of the stamping. I added a bit of the orange using Sorbet Ink from Close to My Heart.

I'm also playing around with a new background/photography layout. What do you think? I love my canisters, but I think it turns out too dark sometimes.

Hello friends!

This was a super fun card to make!  First up, I started by making my background.  I added some water to a bit of Indian Gold Nuvo Embellishment Mousse and "flicked" it onto my papers from a paintbrush. I also used the Mousse to distress the edges a bit.

  

  

Next, I stamped my adorable Elf Image using black ink and colored him in using the super fun Nuvo Glitter Markers and Watercolor Pens!  I love the sparkle these markers give and they dry super quick too!  I've even started to play around with watercoloring with the Glitter Markers...but that's a story for another post ;)  After he was dry, I fussy cut him out!

Next, I made his "mantle". I stamped a woodgrain stamp image onto brown cardstock using Versamark Ink and embossed with Pebbled Copper Embossing powder. I assembled my background papers with 1/2" Tear-ific Tape and added the mantled, then the little elf "sitting on the mantle!  I also hung a couple bells from the mantle with some thread - just for fun!  

  

The sentiment was stamped with Versarmark Ink and embossed with Gold Detail Embossing Powder (PERFECT for holiday cards!).  I also flicked some of the Indian Gold Embellishment Mousse onto the sentiment. 

  

  

The finishing touches were Autumn Red Crystal Drops in the corners. 

I had so much fun making this card!  I hope you love it too!  I took too many pictures I think...here are some more angles! ;)

I started creating this card by making my background. I had a template of circles pre-cut and I used that as my stencil. I added a layer of the Fresh Copper Embellishment Mousse first, moving the stencil each round just a touch. I used a sponge to apply the mousse.

Next, I grabbed mini-mister and added some of the Indian Gold Embellishment Mousse and water to the mister, shaking well to dissolve.  I used this as my shimmer spray!  I used the same stencil and sprayed a few layers of the Gold Mist on. 

  

Next, I used the Crackle Background Stamp to add texture. I inked it up with Versamark Ink, stamped and embossed with Copper Embossing Powder!  GORGEOUS!

My focal Wreath image was stamped with Versamark Ink, embossed with Copper Embossing Powder and colored using the Aquaflow Pens. I just am in love with these watercolor pens. So easy to work with and blend.  The sentiment was also stamped with Versamark INk and embossed with Copper Embossing Powder. I added some Fresh Copper Embellishment mousse to the edges of my paper pieces to age them a bit and give a fall/vintage feel.

  

 Finally, accents of Dark Walnut Crystal Drops were added to finish off the card. I used some hemp twine, burlap and brown satin ribbon to accent the card. All the layers were adhered with 1/2" Tear-ific Tape.
