He Shoots, He Scores!

Hello friends!

I have another brand new card to share with you this month for Southern Ridge Trading Company!  Of course I tried to keep with my "Christmas in July" theme - but the card ended up being more of a "winter in July" theme - HOCKEY!  How much more Canadian can you get than a hockey card? LOL

Let me share how I made it!  These are the Southern Ridge products I used on this card:

I started by heat embossing my Hockey Players!  I used a dark navy blue for the focal "Hockey" guy, and a nice red for the other!  I typically use 2-3 layers of embossing powder on my chipboard pieces. I simply cover each piece with Versamark Ink, then sprinkle on my powder of choice and heat setting!  I repeat for each layer until I like the coverage.  I used a gold detail powder on my Small Primitive Stars (and one pretty Navy Blue one for contrast!).

I had a few "hockey" themed patterned papers kicking around, so I used them to create my background. I also adhered a small piece of red cardstock to the back of the "Hockey" word to make it stand out.

I used some Nuvo Crystal Drops to accent the edges of the hockey stick and skate blades. It also accented the corners of the card! Here are a few more pictures of my card:

I did pop up the blue hockey player using Foam Squares to give it more of a focal point. SUCH a fun card!!!

I also used the following supplies:
- White Cardstock
- SNS Dimensional Glue
- Hockey Paperpack & Stickers (Echo Park)
- 3D Foam Squares
- Red Cardstock

I hope you had some fun here on the blog today! I really enjoyed making this card - it's always nice to have some "boy" cards on hand!

See you again real soon!!

Rinea Christmas in July

Hello friends!

I was so excited when I opened my Rinea Designer Package and found this BEAUTIFUL Jade/Gold color of foiled paper!!!!!!  It's just amazing - and one of my favorite colors to boot!
I am just in LOVE with the Jade/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper! I'm pretty sure that most of my Holiday cards this year are going to incorporate some of this beautiful foiled paper. I used the Crafter's Pack to create this card. I die cut the leaves for the flower using a thin die set (the foiled paper cuts beautifully with dies!). For the background, I cut a piece 4x5.25 inches and ran it through my Big Shot with a cool Tim Holtz embossing folder.  I just love how crisp and clean the foiled paper comes out with this technique - and it will retain the shape perfectly!!!

(You may remember seeing this foiled paper on a previous card I created HERE).
For my sentiment, I actually grabbed an Artist's Pack of our brand new MISFITS Variety Pack!  I love these little packs - they have an assortment of colors that are perfect to run through your diecutter - and you don't need to buy a full pack of one color! I layered the "joy" using the "Misfits" Mocha/Mocha Starstruck and the "Misfits" Silver/Silver Startstruck Foiled Paper.
I know you will love working with this amazing product! If you are looking at trying it, the Misfits are a perfect way to start, as it contains an assortment of colors and both glossy and startstruck versions.  I hope you enjoyed this card and I will see you next time!

When Black Cats Prowl

Hello crafty friends!

I don't know about you, but I just LOVE making Halloween cards!  Granted, they don't get sent out as often as I SHOULD send them, but I really love making them! I think it's the colors I love the best. I especially love vintage themed ANYTHING, so when I saw the "When Black Cats Prowl" Stamp Set from SparkleNSprinkle,  I KNEW I had to work with it!  I also snuck in some of my fave vintage Halloween papers for the background!

As always, here's my SNS Supply List:

Ok! Let's get crafting!  First, I started by stamping my images onto cardstock using Versamark Ink and embossing with Black Detail Embossing Powder. To color the image, I did a "smooshing" technique - I added my Nuvo Aqua Flow Pen ink to an acrylic block, swirled it around a bit and placed my stamped image over it, making the random color patterns!  So easy and fun - plus no two cards will be the same!  I added a bit of Orange Blush Nuvo Embellishement Mousse around the edges of my papers and images too.

The bat was stamped with Versamark Ink and embossed with some pretty cool embossing powder called "Stickum Powder". Once you heat set it, it becomes sticky - so you can apply glitter to it!  I added the Black Suede glitter to the bat.  A bit of Black Ash Embellishment Mousse was rubbed onto the edges of the bat. All the images were just fussy cut out - no fancy machines required! Just your good old fashioned scissors.

The sentiment was stamped using Versamark Ink and embossed with Tangy Tangerine Embossing Powder! All of my layers were attached with 1/4" Tear-ific Tape.  The finishing touch? Ebony Black Crystal Drops!!!

I hope you enjoyed this card - I sure had a blast creating it! :)  See you again real soon!

Spellbinders Scalloped Edge Circle dies
(You could use this similar die- Lawn Fawn Fancy Scalloped Circle Stackables)

This just stuck me as a happy card :) The flowers came from 49andMarket (sooo pretty).

A little about the Scrapy Land Challenge......

The theme is always ANYTHING GOES using any brand of die that Scrapy Land sells.  In addition, we have TWO WINNERS for each challenge.  One will be a random winner and the other is chosen by the Design Team.  Each winner will receive a generous $10 gift certificate to Scrapy Land.  Did you know Scrapy Land carries over 55 brands of dies? Chances are you have a few of the brands in your stash!

Please link back to this Scrapy Land Challenge and include the link to this challenge on your blog post.  It would also be extremely helpful if you would list the brands of dies used in your project.  (Sometimes we can't tell if an item is a die cut or chipboard.)

I can't wait to see what you create for this challenge.

Good luck!

Hello crafty folks!

Other than that, I just focused on using the items in the awesome bundle! I have TONS of leftovers to make more than these five cards too - you will easily be able to create a ton of HOMEMADE Christmas & Holiday cards!!!!

Here are the cards I designed:

Christmas In July - Southern Ridge Trading Company

Hello friends!

I have a brand new card to share with you this month for Southern Ridge Trading Company!  Of course I tried to keep with my "Christmas in July" theme - here is what I created:

Let me share how I made it!  These are the Southern Ridge products I used on this card:

Pine Branches - (not current but you could use either Bare Branches or Pine Branch)

Ok!  Let's get crafting! :)

I covered my dual branch in green Glitter Accents using a palette knife and heat embossed the other branch with a dark green embossing powder, Magic Speckle Embossing Powder and Stampendous Embossing Ink.  I love that Magic Speckle adds a Pearlescent look to the piece!

My sweet little deer was embossed with Stampendous Embossing Ink, White Detail Embossing Powder and Magic Speckle Embossing Powder. I like to add multiple layers to my chipboard pieces to ensure there is full coverage of the piece! I also colored a tiny bit on her horns using a Gold Glitter Marker.

I used a really cool background paper that looks like a book cover! To make "snow" I used the Nuvo Glimmer Paste and just smeared it on with a palette knife.

I also used the "snow" on my sentiment!

I hope you enjoy this sweet little Christmas Card!  I had a lot of fun making it - playing with "snow" in +30 weather seems much more fun than -30! LOL

Here are a few more pictures of my card:

I also used the following supplies:
- White Cardstock
- Green Cardstock
- SparkleNSprinkle Brushable Glue
- SparkleNSprinkle Dimensional Glue
- Foam Squares

See you again really soon!
