Creative Knockouts Challenge #235

Hello crafty friends!

It's time for a new challenge over at Creative Knockouts Challenge #235!  Our theme this week is "Fancy Flourishes" and our sponsor is "Star Stampz".  I chose to work with this beautiful stamp set called "Cinderalla".

Here is what I created:

I really loved this image and added extra hints of glitter to make her sparkle! I used watercolors to color her up.

I hope to see you at the challenge! :)

Until next time,

Papercraft Business Challenge #4

Welcome to our March Papercraft Business Challenge!

Our theme is Anything Goes (w/option: Easter - for an extra entry to win the prize).
I'm sure you have something related to this season in your stash!

I just received a beautiful new Stampendous Stamp Set and was dying to use it. It's called Hydrangea Garden - so pretty!  I also use the Nuvo Glitter Markers to color it all up.  SO sparkly!

Here is what I created:

I started by stamping the images onto white cardstock using Versamark Ink, then embossed with SparkleNSprinkle Black Detail Embossing Powder.  I colored them with the Nuvo Glitter Markers - soooo sparkly! Then, I fussy cut using scissors (I don't have the matching dies yet!).   I stamped a sentiment and embossed it with Amethyst Spray Embossing Powder. Finally, I stamped the butterfly image onto a piece of Embossable Acetate and embossed with the Black Detail EP. The image was fussy cut out and then colored with the glitter markers. I added a bit of details using Nuvo Glitter Drops in the corners.

I hope you will come and join us for this super fun new challenge!  Did you know that Papercraft Business also offers a FREE Blog Purpose Course?  It's perfect if you are just starting our or if you simply want to improve your Blog's purpose!

Scrapy Land Challenge #84

Hello friends!

Welcome to Scrapy Land {Challenge #84}!  I'm very excited to share my very first project!

The theme is always ANYTHING GOES using any brand of die that Scrapy Land sells.  In addition, we have TWO WINNERS for each challenge.  One will be a random winner and the other is chosen by the Design Team.  Each winner will receive a generous $10 gift certificate to Scrapy Land.

Scrapy Land carries over 55 brands of dies, so chances are you have a few of the brands in your stash!  You can see all the brands carried under the Products category.

Please link back to this Scrapy Land Challenge and include the link to this challenge on your blog post.  It would also be extremely helpful if you would list the brands of dies used in your project.  (Sometimes we can't tell if an item is a die cut or chipboard.)

We can't wait to see what you create!  It can be any style you like from CAS to mixed media and everything in between.    Just be sure there's a die cut from a brand that Scrapy Land sells!

Since my first order of NEW Scrapy Land dies didn't make it here quite in time, I had to dig into my old stash!  I decided to use the Tonic Studios Bunting Banner Die, a set of Spellbinders Circle Dies and a Memory Box Poppy die!

First I started by using the Bunting Banner Die to cut out some felt.  I just had an urge to work with felt lately, so stay tuned for more projects like that!.

Next, I grabbed my Memory Box die and some Tonic Studios mirrored cardstock to cut the flowers. I also used the brushed mirrored cardstock to cut the Spellbinders circles (you could use these Lawn Fawn Fancy Scalloped Circle Stackables, which are similar).

P.S. It's hard to take a photo of mirrored cardstock! LOL

Phew! Once all my pieces were cut, I started on assembly.  The banner was connected by some sparkly brads I had kicking around in my collection. I used a paper piercer to poke holes into the felt, then added the brads. I used a butterfly embossing folder to create the background and added a piece of pink lace to the top.  Next, I tied some bakers twine around the flowers and attached them to my banner. The scalloped circles were all stacked together and tucked just underneath the banner. Finally, I added a few gold die cuts for a sentiment (you could use this "Hello" die from Flora & Fauna and "Love" Die from Paper Smooches!). I embellished the card with some glitter sparkles from my stash.

I hope you like my first Scrapy Land creation!  I look forward to sharing a lot more with you over the upcoming months!

Good luck!

See you soon,

Jess

Hello friends!  I can't wait to share how I completed my project!

First up, supplies!  Here is my SNS Supply List:

Pretty Blooms Stamp Set #873

Alrighty!  Let's get started.  First up, flower creation!

I started my making my "palette" of watercolor on a clear acrylic block with various Aqua Flow Pens and my Water Brushes. I just kept mixing the colors until I got the red-orange color I was looking for.

Then, using a really technical "smooshing" action (hahaha) - I smooshed all the color from the block onto my piece of white cardstock - transferring all of that glorious color!  Real technical, right?

Once it was dry, I used my Versamark Ink Pad to stamp the flowers onto the watercolored cardstock and embossed them with Black Detail Embossing Powder. I made sure to stamp a few extra. Then came the fun part - fussy cutting all of those flowers out!

I grabbed my Tonic Floral Crafters and set to work shaping the petals. I didn't use any particular method - just played around with the various sizes and working on both the front and back of the petals until I achieved the shape I was looking for.

Aren't the pretty? I touched up some of the watercolor, darkening here and there until I liked how they looked. Finally, Nuvo Glitter Accents in Fresh Snowfall and Aztec Gold were added to the centers, for a little extra sparkle.  As those were drying, I started on my "vase".

I had some mason jar chipboard elements that were wanting to be used, so I grabbed one of them. Loading it up with Versamark Ink, I then sprinkled on my Super Thick White Embossing Powder and heat set from the underside. I repeated this a second time, making sure everything was evening coated.  I wanted to add a sentiment, so I decided I would "etch" it into the jar!  I covered the sentiment stamp with Versamark Ink and set aside. I added a third layer of Super Thick White across the middle of the jar, used a heat tool to heat up the embossing powder, and then quickly & carefully "stamped" into the warm embossed powder, creating an imprint!  Once that cooled, I carefully reheated the embossing powder on the bottom of the jar and pressed in some Oceanic Glass Glitter (careful, it's sharp!), finishing off the jar.

The background was quite simple. I chose a paper from the Photoplay Paper Pad called Summer Bucket List along with scrap piece of patterned paper from my stash. I also added a piece of Craft Perfect Paper in Hailstorm across the bottom. I added a couple of strips of Tearific Tape across the paper and sprinkled on Ocean Breeze Glitter, burnishing well.

Finally, all the layers were adhered with 1/4" Tear-ific Tape. I tied a bit of string around the jar for extra charm and adhered the flowers and jar to the background with the Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.

I hope you love this card as much as I do! :)

The next stop on the SNS Blog Hop is the amazing Eret (seriously, she is an incredible designer!) and you can find her blog HERE.

See you real soon!
